Importance of links building

linedividerHaving a search engine optimized website is only half the battle. If your website doesn’t have enough links pointing to your site, its like you never existed. If you’re really looking to increase your visibility you need to be linked, and in one way or another you must always pay.

Some webmasters are unsure whether they should add link pages to their web site, and some don’t know which factors are important to determine if they should link to a certain site or not. The Internet is based on links. If there weren’t links, the Internet wouldn’t exist. For this reason, if you find a good web site with good content you should link to that site. Don’t care about the search engine ranking or the PageRank of the site you’re linking to. If you find a web site that you or your visitors find valuable, then link to it and ask for a reciprocal link to your site. Search engines just try to organize the Internet. Links build it. If you participate in building the Internet with good links, your web site is in a good position.

Link Exchange is one of the best ways of ranking your site or page higher on the search engines and it is one of the leading factors in improving placements in search engines. It is also the easiest way to improve a website link popularity, and by doing so, to achieve better search engine positioning and increase the traffic. Link Exchange is a very effective and inexpensive approach of gaining popularity and prosperity on the web and it is the most successful way for increasing your visitor traffic without paying any money for advertising. Due to the domination of the search engine market by Google, and its underlying page rank technology, sites are deemed to be more important if they have large numbers of inbound links. Link Exchange is one of the best methods of getting exposure to your site on a limited or zero budget. Link Exchange is or should be a crucially important strategy for every internet business owner, as by using positive and relevant link exchange will prove to be the most accessible way to improve your web sites link popularity.

Of course all this was true in the past when Google still used to do his job properly, perhaps it is a bit less true nowadays, where the most important thing is to make a lot of money through publicity and paid advertisements, and so the Internet is completely destroyed by stupid algorithms, private interests and desire to dominate the entire mass of web pages. Anyway I used links and I created a small internet guide even before Google was born, so I don’t think I will change my policy in order to please its popular, questionable and useless concept of page rank. As a matter of fact many businesses are angry that changes to the Google search engine have made it difficult for customers to find them and a lot of critics say it’s Google’s way of trying to drive up ad sales – it is possible to pay to make sure your site shows up prominently. Thieme believes that Google intentionally changed its algorithm to get merchants to pay to be listed. The more merchants or advertisers Google can get to be part of this AdWords program, the higher the cost per click paid to Google and its distribution partners, like Ask Jeeves.

With this saturation of the market and Google pushing their organic search results further down the page in favor of their paid listings, it is becoming increasingly difficult for businesses to be noticed online without paying Google for the privilege. Google’s algorithm, which calculates the rankings of websites, can seem like an enigma, changing over 500 times a year. However, the biggest factor in determining Google’s rankings tends to be based on those little blue links that you see on almost all websites. Imagine Google as the Internet’s polling station, counting the votes from all the links that it finds on the web. Unlike in your typical democracy, where one person has one vote, Google gives more weighting for votes from authoritative, relevant websites. Unfortunately, there are no quick and easy ways to make your website get more links or turn up on the first page of a Google search.
